Music video inspirations- Miss Georgiou

·

Music video 1-   Disclosure- White noise

Disclosures hit single, White noise ft. Aluna George gave me much inspiration for my own production. As it belongs to the dance genre (the genre that i hope to do) i was inspired by the conventions used within that invoked feelings of excitement and euphoria. The use of lighting under  mise-en-scene in particular which can be seen bellow. The bright colours used replicates that what you would expect to see when you go out dancing. This is relatable to the dance genre as it is a common convention.

Music video 2- Kiesza- Hideaway

I was also inspired by the use of colour within this music video. The bright costumes and setting seen in the picture on the right are appropriate for the target audience of the dance genre as the colours keep the audiences attention as well as make the music video appear more 'happy' and uplifting so audiences feel more inclined to dance. I hope to replicate this effect into my music video as it is vary relatable to the dance genre as a whole. It is seen in the vast majority of dance music videos such as chase and status's single 'No problem'. an image of it can bee seen bellow.

Music video 3- Martin Garrix- Animals

The song is made to appear faster, frantic and therefore more 'fun' through the speed of editing between points 1:26- 1:28 during the music video. The speed at which the shots switch between one another creates effect that audiences find exciting and helps elevate the feel of the music. This is relatable to the dance genre as they need to create effects through the micro elements that help audiences connect with the music making them want to dance.

  1. You have made a start in considering three music videos that have provided you some inspiration for creating your own production. However, further justification and explanation is needed of why the videos have provided you inspiration.

Remember that this is an inspiration post and needs to be updated throughout your production.
